Pharmacogenomic (PGX) Testing

Discover the benefits personalised prescription medication, guided by your DNA

About this service

Did you know that 90% of medications do not work as intended for 50-70% of the population (Nature, 2015)?

Pharmacogenetic testing  provides information that increases the likelihood that you are being prescribed the right medication.

The saliva-based test identifies genetic variants affecting medication efficacy and provides recommendations on which may work best. Backed by the latest research, PGx-guided prescribing shows a 30% reduction in adverse drug reactions (The Lancet, 2023).

Flint Healthcare is pleased to offer patients this cutting-edge Pharmacogenomic (PGx) DNA test to help you find the right prescription medication for you, according to your genetics. The test helps you find the right prescription medication for you, according to your genetics. It is based on a saliva specimen, which is sent to an NHS-authorised laboratory. Test kits can be purchased directly from Flint Healthcare.

The genetic test does not give any information about the genetic basis for the condition you may be experiencing. It covers 77 different common medications (see list here), many of which are mental health medications.
