Dr Jennifer Hudson is a highly experienced consultant clinical psychologist with over 20 years experience of providing psychological services in both NHS and private settings. Jennifer completed her doctorate at University College London. She offers highly specialised evidence based interventions for adults and children with a range of complex needs. She is also an experienced trainer and supervisor.
Jennifer is driven by a deep sense of compassion and a desire to make a positive difference in the lives of those she works with. She is kind, non-judgemental and highly supportive. Her clients can expect a safe and supportive therapeutic environment in which they can explore their concerns. She is committed to helping her clients improve their quality of life using a highly personalised approach to treatment.
Jennifer’s work is also informed by Positive Psychology research which focuses on building individuals’ strengths and helping clients to find meaning and purpose in their lives. Jennifer has expertise working with a wide range of mental health issues including trauma, depression anxiety, OCD, psychosis, ASD, and ADHD. Her training and experience cover a broad range of therapeutic approaches and a variety of psychological assessment tools. She is trained in cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, systemic therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS) and CBT-I (a specialist intervention for sleep disorders) among other evidence-based modalities. She is also trained in eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), which is an effective treatment for trauma-related disorders.
Jennifer has a special interest in working with individuals with neuro-developmental conditions and has extensive experience of providing support and treatment to individuals with conditions such as autism and attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). She is also trained in the administration and interpretation of assessments such as the ADOS – for autism spectrum disorders.
