Brendon Faulknor is a mental health nurse consultant who has a wealth of experience in mental health nursing and therapy. He completes attention deficit hyperactivity disorder assessments using the diagnostic interview for ADHD in adults. He also specialises in providing ADHD coaching and solution focused therapy. He works closely with the psychiatric consultants at the clinic providing joint assessments.
Brendon has a reassuring and calm manner which enables him to support effective change, acceptance and management of ADHD symptoms. Brendon is dually qualified in both mental and general health nursing and his 25 years of experience has enabled him to develop strong clinical skills and to provide holistic, patient centred, reflective, recovery-based care that uses tools from a variety of therapeutic disciplines.
Brendon trained as RMN and RGN in New Zealand and completed a post graduate degree in mental health nursing. From 2001- 2018 he worked at The Priory Hospital Brighton and Hove progressing from staff nurse to senior charge nurse. Brendon has also had a number of managerial positions and was the Clinical Services Manager at a private residential substance misuse service where he was also CQC Registered manager and nominated individual, complaints officer, safeguarding lead, health and safety lead, infection control lead, quality improvement lead and clinical governance lead. He has also been the Senior Clinical and Operations Manager for a community mental health treatment service.
Brendon has strong interpersonal therapeutic communication skills and his treatment is underpinned by comprehensive knowledge of ethical and legal frameworks including safeguarding, consent, capacity and mental health legislation.
Brendon is by far the best jazz musician in the team.
